On the left, 3.99 zł. On the right, 3.91 zł
On the left, a single Snickers for 3.99 zł. On the right, two home suppers for 3.91 zł together. The same money, two different evenings.
The bar on the left is 50 grams, 3.99 zł and 240 kilocalories. On the right, two portions from our supper plan: potato pancakes with sour cream for 1.86 zł and red lentil soup for 2.05 zł. Together 3.91 zł, a touch less than one bar, and on the plate it becomes supper for two evenings.
We're not pretending a bar and two suppers are the same. This isn't a nutritional comparison, just price and fullness. The bar gives 240 kcal and vanishes in three bites. The two suppers are about 800 kcal, more than three times more, plus protein from egg, dairy and lentils that actually fills you up.
The supper prices come from a plan we laid out yesterday, with instructions and a shopping list. That's the cost of the portions from that plan, not the whole receipt: you buy full packages once, and most stays in the pantry for the following days. The details are in yesterday's post about three suppers.
Today's rule is short: at the sweets shelf, convert the price not into a bar, but into a supper. Nearly every time, for the same money you'll eat more and better if you plan the evening instead of grabbing it on the way past.
Snugmeal puts evenings like these together for you, a whole week at once, matching dishes to what you want to spend and to the prices in your shop.

Data: the Snickers price checked live in August 2026, 240 kcal per the producer's data (Open Food Facts); supper costs from our plan of 3 August, calculated on Biedronka prices. Our own calculations.
