A week of breakfasts for under 16 zł. Three recipes, one shopping list

Seven breakfasts for a whole week come to 15.38 zł. That's 2.20 zł a morning, less than a bakery pastry. We're counting the portions you eat; what the full packages cost at the till is right by the shopping list.

We built this week from three recipes that rotate across seven days. The prices and macros per serving come from Snugmeal's recipe base, calculated on Biedronka prices as of July 2026. No fresh meat, just a base of dairy, bread and dry-pantry staples.

Three recipes for seven mornings

Each recipe is a single serving. The weekly rotation: millet porridge three times, yogurt twice, toast twice.

Millet porridge with milk and apple. 2.00 zł, 16.3 g protein, 459 kcal, 20 min

Rinse 70 g of millet in a sieve, add 250 ml of milk and simmer covered on low heat for about 15 minutes, until it's soft and the milk is absorbed. Stir in a teaspoon of honey and grated apple. Three mornings a week.

Greek yogurt with banana and oats. 2.80 zł, 21.7 g protein, 357 kcal, 5 min

Spoon 200 g of Greek yogurt into a bowl, add sliced banana and 20 g of rolled oats. Stir and let sit two minutes until the oats soften. Two mornings.

Toast with peanut butter and banana. 1.89 zł, 15.5 g protein, 490 kcal, 6 min

Toast two slices of bread until golden in a dry pan or toaster, spread with peanut butter (25 g), top with banana slices and drizzle with a teaspoon of honey. Two mornings.

One shopping list for the week

  • millet 210 g
  • milk 2% 750 ml
  • Greek yogurt 400 g
  • rolled oats 40 g
  • wheat bread 180 g
  • peanut butter 50 g
  • bananas 400 g (about 4)
  • apples 300 g (about 3)
  • honey 40 g

The amounts are what the recipes use, not package sizes. You can't buy millet measured out to 210 g, milk comes in one-litre cartons, yogurt in 400 g tubs. At the till you take full packages, so you spend more in one go, and the surplus carries over to next week. In concrete terms: the first shop for this plan comes to about 38 zł, counting typical packages (400 g of millet, a litre of milk, a 400 g tub of yogurt, a kilo of oats, a loaf of bread, a 350 g jar of peanut butter, a 400 g jar of honey, plus fruit by weight). You eat 15.38 zł of that this week, and the remaining 20-odd zł is mostly dry pantry that works for the weeks ahead.

What gets used up, and what stays

The plan deliberately spends what spoils. A 400 g tub of Greek yogurt goes fully across two mornings, and a litre of milk covers three porridges. You buy bananas and apples by weight, so you take exactly what the recipes need. A loaf of bread gives you a few slices for the toast, and the rest goes to sandwiches or the freezer, so on a tighter budget you buy a smaller loaf.

Millet, oats, peanut butter and honey are dry pantry that stays for the next weeks, and that's fine.

Seven breakfasts, each with 15 to 22 g of protein, 15.38 zł in total. That's 2.20 zł a day, coffee counted separately.

The week you don't have to plan by hand

We put this plan together ourselves from three recipes. Snugmeal does the same for a whole week and all meals: breakfasts, dinners and suppers around your budget, your macros and real prices from Polish stores, with a single shopping list and a total that matches at the till.
